GWANGJU, Korea (10 July 2015) – Gauteng North’s Andrew van der Knaap saved his best effort for the hottest day at this year’s Summer Universiade in Gwangju, Korea.

After signing for non-counting rounds of 78 and 76 in his debut at the World Student Games, the Centurion golfer pulled out all the stops in the third round.

With the mercury at 33 degrees Celsius and humidity at 86%, Van der Knaap carded a cool one-over-par 73 to lead the South African challenge in the Men’s Golf Competition at Naju Gold Lake Country Club on Friday. Continue reading →

JOHANNESBURG, 9 July 2015 – Boland junior Herman Loubser continued his dominance in the Nomads SA Boys Under-17 Championship and a one-under-par 71 in the third round saw him stretch his lead to five strokes at Randpark Golf Club on Thursday.

The 16-year-old from Theewaterskloof Golf Club won the 2014 Nomads SA Boys U-15 Championship last year and is primed to chase down his second national victory on Friday.

Loubser took the lead with a blistering seven under 65 in the second round and kept control by limiting his mistakes on a tough scoring day at the Bushwillow Course. Continue reading →

GWANGJU, Korea (8 July 2015) – Teaghan Gauche was in blistering form on day one of the Men’s Golf Competition at the 2015 Summer Universiade in Korea and helped the South African team to seventh overall in the Men’s Team Competition on Wednesday.
