Kiera Floyd from Ebotse Golf Club was the only player to shoot a sub par round in the 3 rounds of the 2018 GNGU Women’s Open and with rounds of 73, 75 and 71 managed to lift the 2018 GNGU Women’s Open trophy, This was a comprehensive victory, with her nearest rivals 6 shots behind her.
Lindi Coetzee from Services won the Closed tournament on a count out.
The B Division was closely fought, with Randpark’s Valda for and Pretoria Country Club’s Bronwyn Doeg both finishing in tied first. However, after the first playoff hole, the 18th at Silver Lakes, Bronwyn came up tops to win the B Division title as well as the Closed trophy.
The C Division played 36 holes Individual Stableford and, with course proving to be tough, Irene Country Clubs Di Dyason had 2 good rounds with 33 and 31 points respectively to win the Bronze trophy for 2018.
One of the highlights of the tournament was the awesome lucky draw prize, of a trip for 2 people to Reunion, including flights courtesy of Air Austral, 5 nights accommodation courtesy of the Lux St Gilles, excursions and transfers courtesy of Reunitours. A huge thank you to the Reunion Island Tourism Board and the Reunion Golf Association for this fantastic prize and also sending representation the our tournament, it is truly appreciated.
