GN CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS CROWNED AT IRENE

On Sunday 30 July the 2023 GNGU Champion of Champions were held at the Home of GNGU, Irene Country Club.  The players faced some tricky conditions, with a strong icy wind blowing
for most of the day that made scoring tricky. The winners of the A, B, C and Caddie divisions
will all qualify to play in the National Final sponsored by the Courier Guy to be played Pecanwood from 15 to 18 October 2023.

Womens team selected to defend IPT title

Moodley defends her GN Womens Open Title

The Gauteng North Womens Open was held at Waterkloof GC on 9 & 10 July.  It was a fantastic turnout, even with extremely cold and windy conditions faced on day 2.
Kaiyuree Moodley defended her 2022 title, finishing 1 ahead of Danielle du Toit.
Russo Roberts-Gouws won the B Division title and Numfuyo Galeni the C Division.
A huge thank you to Northerns Nomads who sponsored the prizes for the Junior Division.
Gia Raad took the Junior Championship trophy.

Van Der Berg siblings take Coronation Cup

The brother and sister pair of Riaan and Heidi van der Berg proved that home course advantage is definitely no myth when they took the 2023 Coronation Cup trophy at Services GC.  The pair finished on 47 betterball points, 5 points ahead of nearest rivals.
Thanks must go to the Club for hosting the tournament and to all the players for participating.

Malherbe and Strydom claims Mid am & Senior closed titles

The GNGU Mid Amateur and Senior Closed was played at Akasia Golf Club on 10 & 11 June 2023.

The early lead was taken by Tokkie van den Berg and Gerhard Strydom who shot scores of 69, 3 under par. The course however showed some teeth for the second round but Menno Malherbe knuckled down and shot a great score of level par, 72 to claim the Mid Amateur title on a score of 144.

Daisies win another IPT

It was an exciting week at the GolfRSA Challenge IPT at Mooinooi Golf Club from 9 – 11 May.
Remaining undefeated for the week, playing against Western Province, Ekurhuleni and Central Gauteng, the team proved their strength and passion to bring home trophy.
Congratulations to the Daisies who were made up of Tokkie van den Berg, Captain (Pretoria Golf Club), Matthew Rossouw & Dian Kruger (Centurion CC), Bernhard Koster & Tristan Leonard (Silver Lakes GE), Francois Coetzee (Wingate Park CC), Marais Vorster (Pretoria CC) and Nishalin Naidoo (Zwartkop CC).  The team was managed by Morné Engelbrecht.
Thank you to GolfRSA for hosting the event, and our partners Galvin Green for kitting out our team – they certainly looked fantastic!
Gauteng North currently hold the Womens IPT, Mid Amateur IPT, Super Senior IPT and now Challenge IPT trophies!
