The 2021 GNGU ladies season has started with a bang after a rain affected 36 hole tournament at Waterkloof Golf Club on 31 January.
It was fantastic to see a full field of entries for the respective tournaments and despite the rainy weather all the ladies were eager to play. Unfortunately a delay due to the greens being water logged and a further delay due to lightning meant the tournaments had to be reduced from 36 to 18 holes.
Congratulations to Gabrelle Venter from Bloemfontein GC who won the Junior Girls A Divsion, Liezl Smit from Vryheid GC who won the Mid Amateur A Division.
As always, Nomads Northerns stepped in and sponsored the Junior Girls side of the event. This makes a huge difference in adding value for the players and we sincerely appreciate the support.
A huge thank to you must go to Waterkloof Golf Club for their hospitality. Nothing was too much and the Club assisted in every way that they could in ensuring we had a successful event. We also thank the membership for giving up the course and allowing us to host the tournaments there.
