The NEWS tournament played between Gauteng North, Central Gauteng, North West and Ekurhuleni will be played at Silver Lakes on Saturday, 10 Augustus (foursomes) and Sunday, 11 August (singles). In preparation for this event, a match will be played against North West on Friday, 9 August (which is a Public holiday) also at Silver lakes, with foursomes in the morning and singles in the afternoon, following by a prize-giving braai afterwards.

Match play winner Lara Weinstein

The 18-year-old Lara Weinstein from Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club, defeated Kim Williams in a thrilling final to clinch the Gauteng North Womens Open title at Centurion Country Club on Wednesday 3 July.

Adele Beytell won the B-Division title after defeating Mercedes Kreissel.

The B-Division was won by first round leader, Simone Henriques from Glenvista, who also won the Girls B-Division title at the Nomads SA Girls Championship at Orkney last week.

The Colour Presentation for the U17 team was held at the Union offices on the 19th of June. Good luck to our team who will be playing at Mt Edgecombe Golf Club from 24 to 28 June.

Our  teams celebrated an unprecedented double victory at the 72 Hole Teams Championship after lifting both the Swiss Teams Trophy and Challenge Trophy at Maccauvlei Golf Club on Wednesday.

Our A team did not only retain their A-Division title, but the  B-team finished second while the C-team held off a spirited challenge from Limpopo to capture the B-Division title.

This marks the first time that one province has won both the coveted Swiss Teams Trophy and the Challenge Trophy since the B-Division was introduced in 2008.

Nobuhle Dlamini edged out defending champion Kim Williams to win the Governor’s Trophy for the best individual performance in the championship.
