We recently sent out a note to the Handicap and Senior Scratch League Co-ordinators stating that temporarily league players must enter a No Return for league fixtures into the handicap system due to some queries raised with regard to capturing scores for match-play into HNA. Waterkloof Golf Club played host to the GNGU Senior Open on Saturday 18 January and Sunday 19 January. Saturday saw 96 players teeing it up on a wet course with rain falling for most of the day. Greg Gleeson from Kyalami Country Club took the first-round lead with a magnificent score of 67, 5 under par.

On Sunday the sun came out with a light breeze blowing. Greg Gleeson played a wonder full round of 71 to add to his score of 67 to claim the GNGU Senior Open on a total score of 138, 6 under par.

Schalk Naude won the Super Senior title with scores of 70 and 78 for a total of 148.

Blue Valley Golf & Country Club played host to the 2019
GNGU Inter Club on Sunday 3 November. The aim of the
day is to provide networking opportunities to clubs that
are affiliated to GNGU.  There were 13 teams competing
in a fourball alliance format.

Results:
1st   Cullinan Golf Club           86 pts
2nd  Akasia Golf Club              84 pts
3rd   Pebble Rock Golf Club   83 pts

Pretoria Golf Club played host to the GNGU Foursomes on Sunday 8 September 2019. The same formula was used as in 2018 with the aim is to grow the game. Entries were open to male and female golfers from all skill sets.

Premier IPT team members Jacques van Tonder & Werner Deyzel were crowned the winners on a score of 145, one over par. Armand van Dyk & Andrew Williamson came second 4 shots from the leaders. Andre Schmidt & Mika Moerat were the B Division Winners. Peter & JP Cooper won the best nett.

We would like to thank all that participated in the event and to Pretoria Golf Club and their members for affording us the opportunity to host the event at their course.

GNGU had the privilege of hosting the 2019 Northern Provinces Scratch League Finals at Silver Lakes Golf and Wildlife Estate on the 27th and 28th of July.

The teams competing were Silver Lakes Golf and Wildlife Estate, Benoni Country Club, Royal Johannesburg and Kensington, Potchefstroom Golf Club, Polokwane Golf Club and Walker Park Golf Club. The host team made good use of the home ground advantage and managed to beat all 5 teams. For full results – CLICK HERE
