Estiaan and Ruan Conradie (Wingate Park CC) have won the LIBERTY GNGU Closed Foursomes tournament. This comes on the back of a stellar win of the Central Gauteng Foursomes tournament. The event was held at an immaculate Woodhill Country Club on an absolutely brilliant day for golf. The brothers were paired with Dylan Kok and Phillip Kruse, who ended tied second with Jansen Harper and Louis Jonck, winning the tournament by eight strokes on 5 under par. The pair followed up a first round 70 with a solid three under 69 to seal a comfortable victory.
As a surprise to some, the duo of Johan Stuwig and Gerry Few, recorded the best Nett score of 143. The pair beat Craig Collins and Kelso Hannay into second and Marco Loubser and Andrew van der Knaap into third spot. The President of the GNGU and Ex-President of the GNGU are not likely to let the members of their various teams forget this event any time soon.
Most of the other GNGU Main Inter-Provincial Team members were in the field, as well as current and previous Mid-Amateur Inter-Provincial players. Also in the field were no less than 11 Senior players who at some point obtained Provincial honours for the Gauteng North Golf Union.
