Kok sets pace at Northern Amateur

2016SASP_DylanKok2_GNGUJOHANNESBURG, 15 March 2016 – The Pro Shop Northern Amateur Championship will restart this morning with Gauteng North’s Dylan Kok in the driver’s seat.
A total of 44 players still need to complete the second round after organisers were forced to suspend action in the 72-hole qualifier due to dangerous conditions after thunderstorms hit at Randpark Golf Club on Monday afternoon.Play resumed at 07h00 this morning and the third round will start at 11h00 following a cut to the top 64 players and ties.
Kok from Woodhill Country Club opened with a 68 and fired a blistering eight under 64 at the Firethorn Course to set the 36-hole target at 12-under-par 142.
He leads by one from fellow Gauteng North amateur James du Preez and finished three strokes clear of big-hitting Aubrey Beckley from North West, who claimed a five stroke victory in the Sanlam Cape Province Open last month.
